Lawanna D. Burton's Obituary
Age 82, of Jackson, passed away at her home, Tuesday, February 9, 2016 under the loving care of her family and Allegiance Hospice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Burton; parents, Ray and Eleanor Butcher; son-in-law, Terry Singleton; brothers, George, Leon (Evelyn) and Sam (Bulah) Butcher and brother-in-law, Kenneth King. Lawanna is survived by her daughter, Sherry Singleton of Rockingham, NC; son, Rick L. Burton of Jackson; step-son, Robert (Lisa) Burton of Holland, MI; grandsons, Guy M. and Jeremy H. Smith; step-grandchildren, Jason (Tanya) Singleton and Ricki Steen; great-grandson, Blake Smith; step-great-grandchildren, Stevie, Bryce and Bradlee; brother, Orville (Shari) Butcher; sister, Georgenna King; several nieces and nephews. Lawanna graduated from East Jackson High School. She worked for A & P Supermarket in Jackson for 16 years and retired from K-Mart in Rockingham after 15 years. Private interment services will be held at Richmond County Memorial Park in Rockingham, NC.
