Lawrence Elwood Filter's Obituary
Age 92, of Michigan Center, peacefully left this world and entered into the arms of his beloved late wife Marlyn February 28, 2019. He is survived by his two children; Gary (Cathy) Filter, Denise (Dan) Ruble, grandchildren; Ryan (Jessie) Filter, Denise (Jeff) Urbain, Erin (Chris) Compton, great-grandchildren; Jaymason, Liam and Blake Filter, Trenton Urbain, Emma and Max Compton, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Marlyn, son; Carl Filter., sister; Hilda Filter. and his parents; Bernard and Mildred Filter and his step-mother, Margery Filter. Larry served the nation in the US Army Air Force in World War II, was a retired Tool & Die Maker at Clark Equipment, and was a long time member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Michigan Center. He had a gentle soul and was a devoted and loving family man with a host of friends. Services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 11 am with Pastor Ryan Prondzinski officiating. Interment Roseland Memorial Gardens. Graveside Military Honors will be offered by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 am until service time. The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the excellent care and compassion shown by the staff at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility and Great Lakes Caring Hospice. Contributions in his memory are directed to the Church, 4250 Page Avenue, Michigan Center or the Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation, 406 West 34th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64111.
