Lawrence Duane Lycos' Obituary
Lawrence Duane Lycos, 86, of Jackson passed away at Jackson County Medical Care Facility on December 28, 2023. Lawrence’s family and friends will gather on Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel (Formerly Arthur-Day Funeral Home). His funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel.
Lawrence was born on February 18, 1937, in Lansing, Michigan to William and Bernice (Gibbs) Lycos. After graduating high school, he went into the United States Army and fought in the Korean War from 1955-1957. Lawrence married the love of his life, the late Alice (Haynes), on March 28, 1962, in Lansing, Michigan. He was employed in the automotive industry and retired from Wyman-Gordan after 28 years. After retirement, Lawrence enjoyed yard work and took great pride in keeping an immaculate looking lawn. He was known for being a jokester and was a very loving Dad and Grandfather. He also spent time watching a variety of TV shows. He spoke often about missing his late wife, Alice, and how he longed to be with her again.
Lawrence will be greatly missed by his son, Kenneth (Ruth Straub) Lycos; grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Lycos and Kenneth Michael (Pam) Lycos; great grandchildren, Tristen Lycos, Jayden Partin, Robert Stackling, Braylen Davisson, Makayla Lycos; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Alice Lycos; siblings, Peter (Doris) Lycos, Paul (Millie) Lycos, Richard (Pauline) Lycos, Helen Lycos, Ann (Wayne) Wilcox and his son, Cole Lycos.
