Lawrence Dallas Smith's Obituary
Age 81, of Michigan Center, passed away Friday September 23, 2022 at Henry Ford Hospital Jackson. Lawrence was born in Jackson, Michigan on Saturday, April 5, 1941 to the late Harold Lawrence and Mary Viola (Bristow) Smith. He is survived by his wife of 43 years; Janet I. (Overmyer) Smith, son; Randy A. (Susan) Smith, five step-children; Thomas (Cindy) Williams, Bill (DeLynn) Williams, Donita Wells, Lorraine (Pete) Butler and Phil (Lisa) Williams, 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, brother; Danny (Gail) Smith, sister; Patty Winningham, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son; Roger Smith and step-daughter ; Diana Estey, brothers; Don, Bob, Jack and Jerry Smith. He was a retiree of BFI, loved to play poker, tell stories and was an avid fisherman. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 1 pm on Saturday October 8, 2022 at the Harmony Baptist Church (6475 Ann Arbor Road, Jackson, MI 49201) with Pastor Rod Walker officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church from noon until service time. Contributions in his memory are directed to the Church.
