Leah M. Mitchell (Bammer)'s Obituary
Age 92, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016 under the loving care of her family and the staff at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home. Born August 6, 1923 in Jackson to Winnie and Margaret (Bramer) Hatt, Leah spent her youth at Ackerson Lake; graduating from Napoleon High School. During World War II, she worked at the Brooklyn Plant of Ford Motor Company. Leah volunteered for over 15 years at the information desk with Foote and Mercy Hospitals and at blood drives. She was a 49 year member with the Women of the Moose, where in 1975 she was Senior Regent for W.O.T.M. Chapter 389 and received her degree with the College of Regents in the Mooseheart in 1977. Leah was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Bammer Sr. and James Mitchell; son, Robert Bammer Jr.; granddaughter, Christina Vincent; sons-in-law, Louis Canepa, Marvin ""Butch"" Vincent and David Omans; and brother, Robert (Mary Helen) Hatt. She is survived by her beloved children, David Bammer (Marilyn Allen), Sandy Canepa, Nancy Vincent, James (Linda) Bammer and Denise Omans; daughters-in-law, Sally Bammer and Jean Mitchell; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and other extended family. Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 11:00 am. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm.
