Leon Alonzo Worden's Obituary
Age 89, of Jackson, passed away at Trellis Gardens in the presence of his loving family and under the care of the Trellis Staff and Great Lakes Caring Hospice. He is survived by three children, Randy (Terri) Worden, Audrey Woods and Martin (BJ) Worden, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Kathryn (Hoffman) Worden in 2016, parents, Arlo and Grace (Boyer) Worden and his brother Earl Worden. Leon served the nation in the US Army (Korea) in the 24th Infantry Division Signal Corp. He retired as an Assistant Engineer at the Sparton Corporation. He enjoyed collecting and restoring antique engines and was a former member of the Central Michigan Antique Tractor & Engine Club. He was a longtime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church (1505 W Michigan Ave., Jackson, Michigan 49202) where a Memorial Service celebrating his life will be Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2 pm with Pastor David Eidson officiating. The family will receive friends on hour prior to services. His cremated remains will be interred with his late wife Kathryn at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Contributions in his honor are directed to the Church.
