Leonard Stanley Soltis Jr.'s Obituary
Leonard Stanley Soltis, Jr., 78, from Jackson, MI, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Henry Ford Hospital in Jackson, MI.
Leonard was born on November 10, 1945, in Jackson, MI, to Leonard, Sr. and Adeline (Mietelka) Soltis. He joined the U.S Navy in 1965, where he served in the First Navy District in Boston, MA. After leaving the Navy, Leonard became a Correction Officer for the State of Michigan in Jackson, MI, where he stayed at until retirement. Leonard and his wife, Lorraine, loved traveling the country together and would often have his daughter and son-in-law come along to make it a family trip. He lost his wife in 2002 and his daughter in 2004, afterwards he just wasn’t the same person. He never got over their lose. He would rather stay at home and watch T.V. He was a big fan of the Notre Dame football team and enjoyed watching them play.
Leonard will be missed by his daughter, Patti Schroder; his son-in-law, Randy Leavitt; grandchildren, Emily Leavitt, Harry Jaques and Stacy Wolf. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lorraine, and his daughter, Peggy Leavitt.
