Leonard G. VanBogelen's Obituary
Leonard Gene VanBogelen, age 93, of Manchester passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital, Jackson. A private gathering and service will take place at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Manchester. Leonard was born September 7, 1927 to Leonard and Bessie (Wood) VanBogelen in Grand Haven, Michigan. He married Marva Jane Paulsen on April 23, 1948 in Muskegon, MI, she precedes him in death. He was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed working with the Miss Michigan Pageant and the National Cherry Festival. Leonard also volunteered, in his early years, with the local Hospice. He is survived by his children: Mark (Ruth) VanBogelen, Lynn Golinski, Kirk (Jody) VanBogelen; 6 grandchildren; 7 great granchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marva Jane; brothers, Jack Flowers and Bob Flowers; and sisters, Lucille Brown, Lillian Mumford and Fern Josefowicz.
