Leone Elizabeth Sova's Obituary
Age 95, of Leoni Township, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Senior Moments Assisted Living in Summit Township. She was born in Los Angeles, California to Leon Glenn McGuirk and Lola Rulah (Barson) Hamblin. She is survived by five grandchildren; Susan Sova, Connie Sova, Jerry (Meeka) Sova, Phaedra Sova and Brittany Sova; great-grandchildren, Anthony Williams, Bobby Gillespie, Tiffany Gillespie, Eric Ostrander, Cyrus Bailey, Eva Marshall, Drew Marshall, Brady Sova, Kaya Santee and Iain Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Nelson Sova, sons Jerry Sova and Larry Sova, great-grandson Kole Sova, parents, and siblings. She and her late husband owned and operated the Sova Dairy Farm for over 50 years. She was the very quintessence of a dedicated farm wife, rising every morning with her husband to get the milking equipment set up but first making sure her makeup was just so. She was noted for the wonderful meals she served to up to 20 of the farm workers and was especially noted for her skill in baking cookies. In any medical or injury mishap at the farm she was the EMT, Nurse, Doctor and Pharmacist all bundled into one caring and loving person. The family will receive friends at Arthur-Day Funeral Home Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 4 to 8 pm. Private graveside services on Friday will lay her to rest beside her beloved husband in Leoni Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Senior Moments and CareLine Hospice for their care of our beloved grandmother.
