Lewis Lyle "Lewie" Voorheis' Obituary
Age 83, of Jackson MI, passed away peacefully Wednesday Dec 23 at home surrounded by his loving family. Lew was a graduate of Vandercook Lake High School and owner of Tru-Grind Inc. He enjoyed bowling on his Tru-Grind Inc team, his John Deere tractors, Michigan State Spartans, his grandchildren, and watching old westerns. Lew is preceded in death by his parents, Lyle & Helen (Wetzel) Voorheis and son, Ryan L. Voorheis. He is survived by the love of his life for 63 years, Lynna Blondell (Thompson) Voorheis; two children, Rodney L. Voorheis Sr. and Rena (Voorheis) Sexton; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Jan (Richard) Standley; brother-in-law, Gary (Jan Dresser) Thompson; one niece and nephew, special family friend, Annette (Paul) Cosgrove. Services will be held Monday December 28 at the Skiff Lake Bible Church (8277 South Jackson Road, Clark Lake) at 1 pm with Pastor John Larkin officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 pm until service time. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The funeral service will be live streamed @ skifflakebible.org. Due to current COVID restrictions the attendance at the church will be limited to 40 masked family members and close friends.
