Linda Marie Thompson's Obituary
Linda Marie Thompson, 70, of Tecumseh, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, after a lengthy struggle with Muscular Dystrophy. Linda’s family and friends will gather Friday, April 26, 2024, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Eineder Funeral Homes - Brooklyn Chapel, with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Pastor Jeff Sheeks will officiate.
She was born on September 12, 1953 in Toledo, Ohio to Walter and Eleanor (Gutzmer)Gillen. Linda married the love of her life, the late William “Bill” Thompson, in 1976, at the St. Joseph Shrine Catholic Church. She will be remembered as a kindhearted person who handled her affliction with grace. Linda was a Columbia Central High School graduate. She retired after many years of service from Brooklyn Products. Linda enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, and she could often be found selling her raw honey at the Walker Tavern Farmers Market on Sundays. Linda had a beautiful singing voice; she sang in the choir at the St. Joseph Shrine Catholic Church where she was parishioner for many years. Linda enjoyed traveling, going to Alaska several times, and camping near Hog Island. She also loved her German shepherds and hosting many family gatherings. Linda was just a pure joy to be around and will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
Linda is survived by her siblings, Irene (Benny) Snider, Catherine Osborn, Noreen (Tim) Litchard, Virginia “Ginger” (Jim) Poole, Norman (Margaret) Gillen and Sherry (Brian) Belmonte; many nieces, nephews and cousins and a sister-in-law, Cindy DeGroff. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Eleanor, her husband, Bill, a brother, Gary Gillen, a nephew, Andy Litchard, and brother-in-law, David Osborn.
