Lloyd E. "Huntz" Ahrens' Obituary
Age 83, of Houghton Lake, formerly of Columbia Township, passed away August 4, 2020 at Munson Medical, Grayling, Michigan. He is survived by three children, Pamela Ahrens, Brian Ahrens and Craig (Jodi) Ahrens; four grandchildren, Kimberly, Justin and Corey Ahrens, Brittani (Dustin) Brown; six great-grandchildren, Ethan, Brysen and Brilynn Brown, Trinity Hailey, Joshua Ahrens and Annabelle Rose; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Irene B. (maiden-Zakrzewski) Ahrens in 2016; his parents, William and Gertrude (maiden-Raymond) Ahrens; sister, Wilma Frey and brother, Robert Ahrens. Lloyd served the nation in the US Army, was the retired plant manager at CITGO Petroleum and was an avid hunter and fisherman. At his request cremation has taken place. A Time of Remembrance to let friends call and greet the family will be held at the funeral home Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 5-8 pm. His cremated remains will be interred with his late wife at the St. Rita Catholic Church Columbarium. Contributions in his memory are directed to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
