Loretta Fay Travis' Obituary
Travis, Loretta Fay Age 86, of Summit Township, passed away May 18, 2013 at the Allegiance Hospice Home. She is survived by two sons, Rodney (Suzy) Travis and Gerald (Margaret) Travis; two grandchildren, Gina Rose Travis and Jerel (Angie) Foster; great-granddaughter, Taylor Foster. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald in 2004; sister, Williamene Apt and her parents, Lloyd and Pearl Rumsey. Loretta retired from Gilbert-Commonwealth after a career as an Administrative Assistant; used her seamstress skills to make dresses to send to African orphans; was a member of the American Legion Post #324 where she enjoyed playing cards with her friends; had belonged to the First Congregational Church of Jackson since 1945; enjoyed time with her family, especially with her granddaughter ""Gina"" and was very appreciative of the Jackson District Library Summit Township branch and the helpful staff there. Mrs. Travis has been cremated. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at a private ceremony to be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Contributions in her memory are directed to the Salvation Army, Summit Branch of the Jackson District Library or the Allegiance Hospice Home.
