Lorretta Irene Kandell's Obituary
Lorretta Irene Kandell, 88, of Clark Lake, passed away peacefully Friday, January 20, 2023, at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home. Lorretta’s family and friends will gather Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Eineder Funeral Homes - Brooklyn Chapel. Her memorial service will be held following visitation at 11:00 am at Eineder Funeral Homes – Brooklyn Chapel. Interment of Ashes at East Rives Cemetery, Rives Junction, MI. Pastor Jeff Sheeks will serve as celebrant.
She was born on December 5, 1934, to Don and Dorothy (Eames) Merrill in Jackson, Michigan. She was raised by her mother Dorothy and stepfather Kenneth Tompkins. Lorretta married the late Gerald R. Kandell in March of 1952. They had 57 years of marriage before his passing in 2009. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed her flower gardens and gardening. She graduated from Napoleon High School and retired from Jacobson’s warehouse in Jackson.
Lorretta is survived by daughter Kathryn Raffensberger, sons Gerald (Terri) Kandell Jr., Danny Kandell, Jimmy (Mary) Kandell, John Kandell, and Matthew (Amy) Kandell; sister Sharon Neible and brother William “Bill” Tompkins. She was grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by them all.
