Lucille Mildred Allen's Obituary
Allen, Lucille Mildred "Lucy" Of Horton, Michigan, died peacefully at the U of M Hospital, surrounded by her husband and children on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the age of 73, after a three and a half year battle with ovarian cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mildred Hagemann and her brother, Thomas Hagemann. She is survived by her husband, Jim of 53 years; her son, Scott (Karen) Allen of Chelsea and daughter, Alicia (Chris) St. John of Jackson; four grandchildren, Rebecca, Bradley, Kaitlyn and Sara; sister, Karen (Larry) Lux of Jackson; sister-in-law and special friend, Doris Hagemann of Parma; along with several nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Jackson High School and worked as a dental assistant for several Jackson area dentists for over 35 years. Lucy enjoyed playing golf, making greeting cards, tending to her flowerbeds and playing cards. Per her request, her remains have been donated the University of Michigan Medical School and the Michigan Eye Bank. At Lucy's request there will be no services, but a fellowship gathering will be held at the Heritage Park Event Center at 121 Tefft Street in Hanover, MI 49241, on Saturday, April 19, 2014 for 1 to 4 pm. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Hanover Horton Area Historical Society, PO Box 256 Hanover, Michigan 49241 or the American Cancer Society, Attn: Catina Lowe, 1755 Abbey Rd, E. Lansing, MI 48823. We mourn Lucy but are grateful for the time we had with her. She has passed with the love and respect of her family and friends.
