Lucille Sprang (McCarty)'s Obituary
SPRANG (McCARTY), LUCILLE Age 81, of Jackson passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 27, 2013 at Heartland Health Care Center. She was born November 18, 1931 in Glenn, MI., the twin daughter (sister, Lorraine) of Bert and Fern (White) McCarty. Lucille practiced as a beautician for many years in the Jackson area and in recent years served as a volunteer grooming wigs for victims of cancer following their chemotherapy. She was an ardent student of the Bible and in recent years spent many hours in this pursuit. Lucille is survived by her twin sister, Dr. Lorraine (McCarty) Wilson of Tecumseh, MI; her two children: Samuel Sprang (wife, Connie) of Jackson, MI and Judy (Sprang) Dowding (husband, Kurt) of Rives Junction, MI; and three grandchildren: Krista (Dowding) Mayo (husband, Jason), Corey Dowding, and Rachael Dowding. The family is grateful to the Nursing Staff at the Heartland Health Care Center for the wonderful care that they provided during Lucille's final days. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at Cornerstone Christian Church, 2395 W. High St., Jackson, MI on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 2:00 pm with visitation from 1:00 pm until service time. For those who wish, contributions in Lucille's memory may be given to either the Cascades Humane Society or American Cancer Society.
