Lyndel Arlene Compau's Obituary
Lyndel Arlene Compau, 75, of Brooklyn passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, Jackson. Lyn’s family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
She was born on February 7, 1950, in Jackson, Michigan to Leonard and Betty (Stephenson) Herrmann. She will be remembered for her total devotion to her family. Lyn attended every school event or competition possible for her grandchildren. She never met a stranger, and she had the biggest smile and warm conversation. Lyn loved the spring flowers and listening to the birds sing. She was an avid quilter, donating the quilts to the veterans. Lyn is a graduate of Columbia Central High School, class of 1968 and attended Michigan State University. She obtained her Master's Degree in Music. However, when she graduated there were not many teaching positions available so, she worked for Ford Motor Company as a financial analysis, retiring after 32 years of service. She then became a substitute teacher where she loved spending time with and teaching the children. She was a Gift of Life donor and a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Family holidays were very important to Lyn, she loved decorating her house with her vast Santa Claus collection. Above all she cherished her time with Jenny, and her family. Lyn will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lyn is survived by her daughter, Jenny (Daniel) Blakley; siblings, Michele (Larry) Williams and David (Cindy) Herrmann; grandchildren Elyse, Juliet and Lucas Blakley. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Betty.
Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Gift of Life. Please leave a message of comfort for Lyn’s family or sign her guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com
