Maria Baier's Obituary
Age 96, of Jackson, passed away at her son's home on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. She is survived by her son, Stefan "Steve" Baier; daughter, Hildegard "Hillary" Stephens (Doug); four grandchildren, Michelle Baier, Kelly Smith (Terry), Stefan Baier and Rick Miller (Chrystal); eight great-grandchildren, Brittany Weaver, Kaitlyn Raeburn (Chris), Savannah Vogt (Trip), Maria Baier, Stefan Baier, Caroline Baier, Rick Miller and Baylee Miller; four great-great-grandchildren, Parker, Brooklyn, Jaxson and Declan; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stefan Baier; granddaughter, Shannon Baier; great-granddaughter, Jessika Baier; sisters, Sophie Sawicki and Katharina Sweeney and brother, Hans Fleisher.
Maria took great enjoyment and pride in her years of work and retirement as a seamstress from Furman's clothing store. Her greatest joy was time with her grand and great-grandchildren and she also took great pleasure in her gardening.
A funeral service to honor her life will be held at Arthur-Day Funeral Home on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at noon and interment at Roseland Memorial Gardens will follow the services.
