Maria Sophia Prettenhofer's Obituary
Age 81, of Sandstone Township, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family February 4, 2015. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Frederick R.; five children, Caron (David) Wootten, David (Valerie), Marc (Ed), Kurt (Doug) and James (Renee) Prettenhofer; grandchildren, Andrea Hogle, Jacob and Annelise Wootten, Michael (Jessica), Daniel (Crystal) and Nicholas (Keisha) Villarreal, Caitlin (Thomas) Marsh, Anthony (Kelsey), Rachel, Alexandra, Josephine, Gabriella and Jamie Grace Prettenhofer; great-grandchildren, Antoinette, David, Alyssa, Dylan, Braylen, Maesyn, Taylor, Alex and Warren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthias and Gerarda (maiden-Mulders) Sailer. Maria was a devoted volunteer at Our Lady of Fatima, St. John's School and Lumen Christi High School. She was a loving wife and mother and a gourmet cook. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Jackson on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 10 am with Father Tim Nelson and Father Tim MacDonald officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening 6-8 pm with a Rosary Service at 7:30 pm. Contributions in her memory are directed to the St. Mary Star of the Sea School. The Prettenhofer family would like to thank the staffs of Arbor Manor and Allegiance for their wonderful services.
