Mark M. Charles' Obituary
Mark M. Charles, 68, of Clarklake, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at home with his loving family by his side, under the care of Arbor Hospice. Mark’s family and friends will gather Friday, November 7, 2025 from 10:00 am -12:00 pm at Eineder Funeral Homes – Brooklyn Chapel.
He was born on June 22, 1957, in Napoleon, Michigan to Maynard and Esther (Johnston) Charles. Mark married Colleen Norton on August 5, 2000 in St. Marks Lutheran Church. He will be remembered as a dedicated business owner. Mark was owner of Clark Lake Carpentry for over 20 years, and employed at Stafford Carpentry for 16 years. He was a Napoleon High School graduate, class of 1975. Mark enjoyed day trips, Jeep trail rides, especially traveling the trails up north to see the fall colors, and golf. He was also a huge Michigan State University basketball and football fan. Above all, Mark cherished his time with his family and walking his dog, Sadie. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mark is survived by his wife of 25 years, Colleen; his step children, Kelly (John) Swirple, Paul Williams and Andrea Clark; siblings, Norm (Phyllis Mellon) Charles, Rebecca (Ned) Plummer, Pat (Mike) Kalmes, Cathy (Matt Knox) Charles and Cindy (Duke) Hardy; grandchildren Madalyn, Lucas and Alexandria; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maynard and Esther, and a grandson, Bradley Holzapfel.
