Marlene Green's Obituary
Marlene Sue Green passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home. Marlene was born on April 29, 1938, in Brooklyn, Michigan to Edwin and Louise (Brooks) Baker. She grew up in the Jackson area, where she raised her family. After retirement from Consumers Energy, Marlene and her husband AJ enjoyed many years of traveling and camping. They also spent winters in Florida with family and friends. Marlene loved to sing in various groups and played in a Florida community band for several years, however her special time was with her family.
Marlene was proceeded in death by her parents, husband AJ, sister Elvina Swenson, and son David Green. She is survived by her children, Michael Thurston, Lori (Dave) Morse, Teresa Patterson, Elizabeth (Michael) Wahl, Vicky (Ronald) Brooket, 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and sister Edwina Burgett.
Marlene’s family and friends will gather on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 10:00AM- 11:00AM at Cornerstone Community Church, 201 Constitution Ave, Brooklyn, MI 49230. The funeral service will follow at 11:00AM. Pastor John Masters will officiate.
