Martha Annette Thode's Obituary
Martha Annette Thode, Age 58, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Martha’s family and friends will gather Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel (Formerly Arthur-Day Funeral Home). Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Phil Draffen will officiate the service.
She was born on September 20, 1964, in Jackson, Michigan to Raymond and Christianis (Bailey) Mullins. Martha married the love of her life, Norman, on September 30, 1989, in Jackson, Michigan. Martha will be remembered for her huge heart and ability to love everyone she met. She was proud to be an LPN for 35 years. It was her nature to be a caretaker, and she made that passion her career. Martha was the glue that held the family together and made sure she showed everyone how much she loved and cared for them. Martha could also be a force of nature and would make sure her kids were brought up with ethics and morals. She was known to have taken her kids to the police station to teach them a valuable lesson if they continued their current behavior. Martha was the first person her friends or family called if they needed help, or just to get her advice. No matter who you were, she would always open her heart to you. However, at the same time, she wouldn’t hesitate to bluntly let you know she didn’t approve of your actions. You knew you were in good with Martha if she would finish saying your name with her trademark “hmmmppf” right after. One of Martha’s most favorite past times was numerous trips to the casino, with some serious wins behind her. Luck was on her side!
Martha will be missed by her beloved Norman; her children, Joshua (Megan Howland) Thode, Sarah (Kaylynn Gardella) Thode and Nathan (Terrah) Thode; grandchildren; Conner, Collin, Carter, Lillian and Emmett Thode; several siblings and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Eva Madge Holbrooks.
Memorial contributions may be given to family for future designation. Please leave a message of comfort for Martha’s family or sign her guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
