Marva Jean (Elenio) Clairday's Obituary
Age 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov 3, 2015 at Vista Grande Villa in Jackson with her daughter Monti at her bedside. Marva was born June 13, 1937 to the late Marvin & Ruby (Vaughn) Clairday. Following graduation from Michigan Center HS in 1955, she joined the US Armed Forces (Army) where she met her husband of 30 years Anthony Elenio (deceased). They had three children, Michael, Mark and Monti. Marva was a stay at home mom until she was hired by Michigan Center High School as an administrative assistant in the Principal's office in 1975. She loved her job and her co-workers but ""Mrs. E"" especially enjoyed all her ""kids"" at the school over the 20 years she was there. After her retirement in 1995, she started a small business (Sweet Sweats), volunteered at various charities and was always helping those in the community that were less fortunate than she. Marva loved to play Scrabble and put together puzzles in her spare time. She was a member of the local Lioness Club chapter and took part in Al-Anon. She is survived by her oldest son Michael (Lori) Elenio of Ann Arbor, daughter Monti (Stephen) Horne of Fort Wayne, daughter-in-law Patty Elenio Keating of Michigan City, sister Candy (Larry) Snow of Jackson, sister-in-law MaryLou Clairday of Hanover, grandchildren Cory (Melanie) Elenio of Raleigh NC, Kylee (Chris) Claeys of Ann Arbor and one great-granddaughter Quinn Avery Claeys of Ann Arbor. Marva was preceded in death by her parents Marvin & Ruby Clairday, brother Malcom Clairday, and her beloved son Mark Elenio. A Memorial service will be held on Sat Nov 21st at Michigan Center Bible Church, 150 Broad St., Michigan Center, Mi., with the Rev John Tovey officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 am to noon at the church prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted at the church.
