Mary E. Samon's Obituary
Age 78, of Leoni Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 3, 2019 under the loving care of her family and the staff at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend, Jerry "Muggs" Samon in 2007; her parents, John and Anna Juszkowski and brother-in-law, Lou Scarpino. She is survived by her three sons, Andrew (Jodie), Eric and Jeffery Samon; nine grandchildren, Christian, Gracie, Patrick, Russell, Lauryll, Dylan, Joe, Andrew and Jenarosa Samon; sister, Shirley Scarpino; brother, Jerry (Julie) Juszkowski; many nieces and nephews. Mary was a strong union woman; she worked for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union #313 and for the AFL-CIO helping displaced workers gain new employment. She enjoyed playing cards at the Polish Legion of America Vets (PLAV), The 3 Horse Club of Michigan Center, and on Fridays with her best friends. Throughout her full life, she would golf, bowl on the Travelettes League at Jackson's Airport Lanes, socialize with a broad circle of friends and above all, spend each day with her cherished family. Mary was a long-time member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church of Michigan Center where a Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 11:00 am with Father Tim MacDonald officiating. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:00 am. Her cremated remains will be interred next to her husband at Leoni Cemetery.
