To the Roos family. You won't remember me but Matt and I were good buddies throughout Junior High School. We rode the same bus to Slauson every morning. I always loved hanging with Matt. He taught me the finer points of plastic hockey which we played together with our friends in the Roos driveway often. He showed me how to cut a wood dowel to the right length and put it inside the hollow plastic stick which helped with slap shots bigtime. Also how to wrap duct tape around the puck to give it more weight.
He was a big music fan and the first time I heard The Beatles Abbey Road and Sgt. Pepper's was at your house. I'm grateful for that. Helped me to appreciate music and the Beatles a lot more.
And Matt was funny. What a great sense of humor. He could always crack you up when you least expected it. Especially in the cafeteria. Slauson was a rough school and laughs were hard to come by, but Matt could make you laugh.
May he rest in peace in Heaven with the Lord.
Sincerely,
Mike Bucalo
