Max Allen Bortles, 67, passed away March 31, 2020. He was born on February 23, 1953, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Donald and Hilda (Sally) Bortles. He will be remembered as a simple man that served his country honorably in the Air Force, as a flight mechanic, during the Vietnam War. Max was an avid outdoorsman, fishing more so than hunting. He loved to visit Northern Michigan and caring for his fur buddy “Ripper”. Max will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Max will be missed by his siblings, Penny (Ed) Thomas, Doug Bortles both of Michigan and Deborah (Joe) Mifsud of Australia ; a niece Caitlin (David) Bain of Australia and two nephews Daniel (Jessica) Thomas and Spencer Thomas; two great nephews Chase and Rowan Thomas all from Michigan. He is preceded in death by his parents.
