He was born on June 6, 1963, in Jackson, MI, to Harold and Patricia (Hodge) Gillman. Michael graduated from Jackson High School in 1982. He married the love of his life, Holly Marie Hahnke, on May 19, 1984, in Jackson, MI. Michael’s passion was for cooking and baking. He started his career with the Michigan Department of Corrections as a food service leader, teaching and guiding inmates how to cook in the kitchen. Michael ended his career cooking for various restaurants in the area. Michael also loved cooking and baking for his family and friends. He absolutely loved to go on Carnival Cruises for vacation. Michael put up with and loved all of Holly’s dogs and cats. In his last few moments, he thought about what influenced his life most and he said “His entire life has been influenced by music, most of all by Led Zeppelin.” Michael will be remembered as a fun, loving, devoted family man, who could always make those around him laugh. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Michael will be missed by his wife of 41 years, Holly Gillman; his children, Michael (Nicole) Gillman and Christina (Will) Randall; his sisters, Michelle (Rick) Fagan and Sherry Yarbro; and his grandchildren, Danielle, Roy, Angela, Roman and Charlie.
