Michael Linton Hitchcock's Obituary
Michael Linton Hitchcock, 81, of Brooklyn passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital. Michael’s family and friends will gather Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Eineder Funeral Homes – Brooklyn Chapel, with scripture service at 7:30 pm. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 11:00 am, following visitation from 10:00 am - 11:00 am St. Rita Catholic Church., Clarklake, Michigan. Fr. Bosco Padamattummal will serve as celebrant with Deacon Chris Vida as Homilist. His ashes will be Interred at St. Rita Catholic Church Columbarium at a later date.
He was born on April 4, 1943, in Highland Park, Michigan to Richard and Ann (Linton) Hitchcock. Michael married the love of his life, Jeannie Atkinson, on January 24, 1987, on their lake property in Brooklyn, Michigan. He will be remembered as being introduced to all as “Old Mike”. Mike graduated from Ortonville High School and completed four years at Michigan State University. He was a generous man with his time and talents. Michael’s children were always on his mind. He retired from Kecy Products in 2008, after many years of service. Michael was a member of the Lions Club, the Kiwanis Club of Brooklyn, Knights of Columbus St. Francis of Assisi Council 7945, and a founding member of S.V.D.P. - St. Rita Conference as well as a St. Rita Catholic Church parishioner. He also enjoyed golfing in his spare time, when he finished his ever growing “to do list’. Michael will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Jeannie; his children, Pamela, Michelle, Jill, Cynthia, Michael Jr., Thomas, Christopher, Nicholas, Eric and Jeremy; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ann.
