Michael Duane Knight's Obituary
Age 72, of Michigan Center, passed away July 22, 2021 at Henry Ford Allegiance Health after a brave fight with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife; Sandra Knight (maiden DeBack), three children; Shawn (Bryan) Bartels, Chad (Dawn) Knight and Justin Knight, step-children Kevin Snow, Paul (Chau) Snow, and Jessica (Bradley) Fields, grandchildren; Chase (Christy) Bartels, Carson Bartels, Tyler Snow, Samantha Snow, MJ White, Briana Knight, Kiley Bowen, Nathan Knight, Regan Knight, and Brayden Knight, brother; Pat (Christine) Knight, and his favorite niece; Nickie (Ken) Knight. He was preceded in death by his parents; Ivan Duane and Joan Nancy (maiden Jonas) Knight. Mike was a 1967 graduate of Michigan Center High School. He retired from the State of Michigan as Nurse Manager at the Duane L Waters Hospital, and worked many years as a Registered Nurse at U of M Hospital (now Michigan Medicine). He loved living on Center Lake, and his contagious laugh could make you smile from a mile away. His favorite times were spent with friends and family, having a good time & sharing a cold one. He was a member of the Center 3 Horse Club since 1995, and took great pride in winning the annual 3 Horse Race several times. And he wouldn't want you to forget, he is the reigning champion this year. He was also a loyal fan of the Michigan Wolverines, enjoyed target shooting, and was a life member of the NRA. A Memorial Service to honor his life will be held at the Arthur-Day Funeral Home, located at 820 Fifth St. in Michigan Center on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior to services. Officiating Pastor: Jerome Vierling, City Life Lansing Church. A luncheon to celebrate Mike's life will be held at the Center 3 Horse Club immediately following.
