Michael "Mickey" Spiess' Obituary
Michael “Mickey” Spiess, 73, passed away October 22, 2023. Mickey’s family and friends will gather Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Eineder Funeral Homes - Manchester Chapel. His funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 26th. Pastor Ned Bernstein of Norvell Baptist Church will officiate.
Mickey was born on August 11, 1950, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Frederick and Beverly (Buckingham) Spiess. Mickey married the love of his life, Joyce Bowers, in 1971, in Manchester, Michigan. Mickey was a gifted auto body repairman and worked for different shops, such as Marshall Ford in Manchester, Rampy Chevrolet in Ann Arbor and Roberts Paint and Body in Chelsea. He also did private work for many local clients including work on collector’s cars and show cars. In his leisure time, he enjoyed working with and creating stained glass windows, many of which are in Manchester buildings today. He began Tae Kwon Do later in life and achieved his black belt at the age of 40.
Mickey will be missed by his wife, Joyce; his children, Donna (Todd) Meeks, Katharine Spiess; siblings, Roger (Cathy) Spiess, Daniel (Susie) Spiess, Timothy (Kathy) Spiess; grandchildren Travis and Blake Meeks; many beloved sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
