Michiko Ferris' Obituary
Age 84, born January 14, 1934 in Fukuoka Ken, Japan, died at the Legends Memory Care August 12, 2018. She is survived by her extended Malone and Clark families, especially her very supportive caregivers, Judy and Karl Honnick, Keith and Shirley Malone and her beloved canine son, Chibi. She met her late husband, Carl Ferris while he was serving the nation in the US Navy. After Carl's retirement, they moved to the US where she studied diligently to become as US Citizen, achieving this goal in 1982. She was very proud of her new country. Before her illness, Michiko was very active in her religious community, was a wonderful homemaker and gardener and was known as a kind hearted woman who would help anyone in need. She is also preceded in death by a son, Takashi Yuwashita. Services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 1:00 pm.. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI. Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 11 am until service time. Contributions in her memory are directed to the Alzheimer's Association, Michigan Great Lakes Chapter, 2111 University Park Drive, Suite 200, Okemos, MI 48864. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Legacy Memory Care and their staff for their wonderful care and compassion for Michiko.
