Mildred Louise Donoho's Obituary
Mildred Louise Donoho, 100, passed away, Monday, January 16, 2023 at Henry Ford Allegiance Jackson Hospital, Jackson, Michigan. Mildred’s family and friends will gather Friday, January 20, 2023 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Einder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center to share their memories and celebrate her life. A private interment will follow to Roseland Memorial Gardens.
She was born on January 4, 1923, in Iuka, Illinois to Gilbert and Lydia (Mulvaney) Cook. Mildred married the love of her life, the late Harry Donoho, on December 23, 1939, they had 73 wonderful years together, before his passing in 2012. She had worked as a “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II but later dedicated her life to being a loving spouse, esteemed homemaker and wonderful mother to her six children. Mildred doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoyed playing cards, was a gifted seamstress and her flower and vegetable gardens were the envy of the neighborhood, as she truly had a “green thumb”.
Mildred is survived by five of her children, Brenda Donoho, Sharon (Siscoe) Hamlin, Linda Dornton, Steven (Bonnie) Donoho and Jennifer Green, son-in-law Roger Bowman; twelve grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many great great grandchildren; two sisters; Martha Davis and Mary Smith, half-siblings, Ronald Woodward and Clara (Robert) Meyer, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Harry and her daughter, Deb Bowman; a granddaughter, Kellie Hamlin and her parents, Gilbert and Lydia.
