Millard Staton's Obituary
STATON, MILLARD Age 85, of Jackson, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, October 24, 2010. Millard was born Saturday, April 9, 1927 at Pilgrim Kentucky to Sam and Lora (Lowe) Staton. He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Lida Mae (Fletcher) Staton; also surviving are two brothers, Tom ""George"" (Rebecca) Staton and Emzey (Siller) Staton; three sisters, Vicie (Earl) Small, Mary (Colonel) Hughes and Judy (Terry) Stewart; sister-in-law, Ruth Ellen Staton; many nieces and nephews. Millard was preceded in death by his son, Gary Lee Staton; his parents; and three brothers, Jerry, Mont and Lilburn. A special prayer service will be held at the Chapel of Woodland Cemetery, 2615 Francis Street in Jackson on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 10:00 am. Interment next to his son will follow the services. His family would like to express their sincere gratitude to everyone at Faith Haven Senior Care Centre for their help in continuing his close relationship with his wife Lida Mae who is a resident there and for making him a part of their family. They would also like to give special thanks to the Jackson Transit Authority for their Senior Program that allowed him to ride instead of driving himself everyday; to the Jackson County Department on Aging; and to the wonderful staff of aides, nurses and doctors on the 3rd floor at Allegiance Health for their true care and compassion.
