N. "Dale" Metty's Obituary
Norbert Dale Metty, 93, passed away September 11, 2023. Dale’s family and friends will gather on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Eineder Funeral Homes - Brooklyn Chapel. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Shrine, Brooklyn, MI, with gathering to begin at 9:30 a.m. Burial to take place immediately following Mass at St. Joseph Shrine Cemetery. Father Bob Pienta will serve as celebrant.
Dale was born on February 12, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan to Earl and Eliza (Lapham) Metty. Dale graduated from Holy Redeemer in Detroit in 1948. He married Lorraine Stutzke in Detroit in 1952. They were married until her passing in 1995. He worked at Sears, Tecumseh Products, Addison Products and co-owned Metty Realty in Onsted, Michigan from 1972 – 1995. He was also a former Cambridge Township Supervisor. Dale was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Council 223, St. Joseph Shrine, and was an active member of the Fourth Degree Knights. He loved classic Mustangs and was a longtime member of the Southeast Michigan Mustang Club. He also spent 35 years with the Irish Hills Fire Department. He was devoted to his church, family and his favorite place, Egan Farm. Dale also loved his time on the golf course. He married Nancy Kiessling on July 12, 1997, and they began living in her beloved California in the winter, and his beloved Michigan in the summer.
Dale will be missed by his wife, Nancy; his children, Dennis (LaDonna) Metty of Brooklyn, Nancy (Kendall) Hierl, Tim (Liz) Cyrus, Tess (Gary Conrod) Cyrus; siblings, Gerald “Jerry” (Carolann) Metty; grandchildren Kristen, Kay, William, Kyle, Ariana, Noah; great grandchildren Emma, Jack, Jade, Luna; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Lorraine, Diane Metty, Karen Metty, Harold Metty, Chuck Metty, Eileen Rogers and two infant siblings.
