Ned William Morehouse's Obituary
Ned William Morehouse, age 91, of Jackson, Michigan, died peacefully of natural causes on May 27, 2020 at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home.
Born in Stockbridge, Michigan, Ned was preceded in death by his parents, Claude & Celia Morehouse; siblings Phyllis, Alice, Lorena, Dorothy, Esther, and Claude; his beloved wife of 57years, Velma Lovejoy Morehouse; his youngest son, Eric; and his daughter-in-law Gail Perkins Morehouse. He is survived by his oldest son Kurt (Claire) of Chapel Hill, NC; two granddaughters Erica (Chris) Martin and Amber (Steve) Dunn; three great-grandchildren Mae Dunn, Kai Maya Martin, and Cassie Martin; and many nieces and nephews.
Ned was a Private First Class in the US Army, stationed in Korea during the Korean War, earning 3 Bronze Service Stars. He retired from a career as a Quality Assurance Supervisor with Kelsey-Hayes. Ned was an avid vegetable and fruit gardener. He enjoyed basketball, golf, carpentry, and spent many years wintering in Sun City, Arizona.
After the COVID-19 Pandemic restrictions expire, a Celebration of Life to honor his memory will be announced and he will be buried next to his late wife Velma in Roseland Memorial Gardens, with full Military Honors. Donations in his memory may be made to the Komen For the Cure (Breast Cancer) Foundation in honor of his late wife.
