Nellie Mae May's Obituary
Age 83, of Leoni Township, formerly of Napoleon, passed away at her home December 4, 2019 under the loving care of her family and Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice. She is survived by four children; Phil (Linda) Hawkey, Catherine (Gary) Hanson, Mary Kay (Dan) Walters, step-son; Pete (Brenda) May, grandchildren; Jill (Matt) McCutcheon, Shayna Hanson, Lori (Russell 'Chase') Warren, Holly Lippmann, Hayley Walters, Christi Hanson, great-grandchildren; Bryan, Jacob, Emily, Koda, Noah and Xander, special little friend; Greyson, brother; Paul 'Tony' (Linda) Riegle, sisters; Martha Deno and Betty Myers, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; George May, granddaughter; Rebecca, sister; Mary Graveson, brothers; Larry, Walter and Lawrence Riegle, parents; Amil L. and Helen M. (Dubea) Riegle. She was a graduate of Brook High School, pursued her education at the Jackson Business University, and retired from the Accounting Department at Aeroquip. She had a passion for animals, was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed camping and flower gardening Services will be held at Arthur-Day Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 11 am with Pastor Tom Burgett officiating. Interment South Jackson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening 6-8 pm. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Jackson Cardiologists Dr. Patel and Dr. Hassunizadeh for their wonderful care of Nellie and also to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice who helped in her last days. Contributions in her memory are directed to the Jackson County Animal Shelter at 3370 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson MI 49203.
