Olga Violet Fodor's Obituary
Olga Violet Fodor, 97, of Jackson, MI, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024, at the Victorian Villa Assisted Living Home in Jackson, MI. Olga’s family and friends will gather Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Brooklyn, MI. Her Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am. Father Bosco Padamattummal will serve as celebrant. According to her wishes cremation will follow the mass.
She was born on April 2, 1927, in Detroit, MI, to John and Yolanda (Iloncai) Csicsak. Olga married the love of her life, Michael Fodor, on September 18, 1948, in Detroit, MI, at St. John’s Catholic Church. She worked as the secretary at Lindeman Elementary in Allen Park, MI, from 1974 – 1992, when she retired. In 1992, Olga moved to Brooklyn, MI, with her husband, where they bought a home on Wamplers Lake. She attended Saint Rita’s Catholic Church while living there. Over her lifetime, she went to visit Hungary 4 times, where her family is from, along with traveling throughout Europe. Olga loved to travel and loved the adventure of new places. She also loved to go up north with her family and would spend a lot of time at the family cabin in Vanderbilt, MI. She enjoyed boating, so she joined the Grosse Ile Yacht Club. Olga was a huge U of M fan and loved to go tailgating for over 15 years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who dedicated her life to her family.
Olga will be missed by her son, Dr. Michael (Karen) Fodor from Clark Lake, MI; her stepbrother, George Papp from Canon City, Colorado; grandchildren, Dr. Kate Fodor, Dr. Sarah (Wes) Chaisson; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother, Geza.
