Olivia "Millie" Blissick's Obituary
Olivia Mildred Blissick, 87, of Michigan Center passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side, Friday, October 13, 2023 at Evangelical Home, in Saline. Millie’s family and friends will gather Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel (formally Arthur-Day Funeral Home) with a Rosary at 7:30 pm. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 11:00 am, following the visitation from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Interment to follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Jackson, MI. Fr. Satheesh Alphonse, SdC will serve as celebrant.
She was born on June 4, 1936, in Czechoslavakia to Peter and Mary (Mokosh) Maga. Millie married the love of her life, the late Edward J Blissick, on June 20, 1959, in Jackson, Michigan. They had 32 blessed years together, until his passing in 1991. Millie was an Alumni of Jackson High School, class of 1954. She was very talented at keeping her garden beautiful. Millie was a fantastic cook and canned many of her own vegetables for the family. She was a longtime member of the Our Lady of Fatima parish and an avid sports fan, especially the Detroit Tigers and of course Michigan State and University of Michigan. Her joy was spending time with her family and entertaining the grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Millie is survived by her children, Edward (Dina) Blissick, Tom (Lali) Blissick, Sandra (Greg Jones) Tokarski and Debra (Shannon) Krutsch; grandchildren Alex (Hayley) Blissick, Anna (Ryan) Forrest, Olivia Blissick and Veronica Blissick; great grandchildren, twins, Henry and William Pearsall and James Pearsall; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; and brother Walter Maga.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to the staff at Evangelical Home for their great care while Millie was a resident. Also, a “Thank You” to Stephanie of Arbor Hospice for her care during this difficult time.
