Omar Lee Hemminger's Obituary
Age 82, of Summit Township, passed away at Highland Alzheimer's Home January 29, 2015 under the loving care of his family and Allegiance Hospice. He was born to Enos and Helen (maiden-Brown) Hemminger. Omar worked for Symons Brothers Grocery and owned and operated Omar Hemminger Concrete Construction. He was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, camp and garden. He served the nation in the US Army during the Korean War. Omar is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Eva; two daughters, Cindy (Andre) LaForrest and Cathleen (Timothy) Brassard; two grandchildren, Mary and Louis Fraser; six sisters, Barb Beeler, Margaret Burke, Carol (John) Vandenburgh, Pat (Jim) Barr, Jeannie Miller and Kathy Mazzetti and special friend Mary Jane. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Todd Lee Hemminger; brothers, Charles and William and sister, Gloria. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home Saturday April 11, 2015 at noon with Rev. Richard Brooks, Allegiance Hospice Chaplain officiating. Visitation two hours prior to service time. Alzheimer's Disease took Omar from us in 2006 and contributions in his honor to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated. Veterans honors will be offered by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team.
