Patricia Hacker's Obituary
Patricia Anne Hacker, 75, of Grass Lake passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025 at home with her family by her side. Pat’s family and friends will gather Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel with her funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm.
She was born on September 11, 1950 in Evansville, Indiana to Lester and Jewell (Foote) Highman. She will be remembered as a very kind, patient, caring woman that loved her daughters unconditionally. Pat graduated from Harrison High School, Evansville, Indiana in 1968 and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Murray State University in Kentucky. Pat married the love of her life, the late Miles Hacker, on May 29, 1971. A marriage that endured for over 42 years. She remained in close contact throughout the years with two childhood friends, Kathy S., and Nancy K. A talented seamstress, she loved making her daughters’ Halloween costumes, creating homemade holiday decorations, and embroidering. She also proudly served on the PTA at her daughters’ school in Williston, Vermont. Traveling with her family was one of her favorite pastimes, and when some of her most cherished memories were made. Pat retired in 2012 from the University of Toledo, prior to UT, she had a long career in IT, and even ran her own desktop publishing business from home. Following retirement, Pat enjoyed barbequing with her son-in-law, Micah; mowing her lawn on her John Deere lawnmower, gardening, and attending baseball games. She was a spiritual woman who fought Alzheimer’s disease with quiet resilience. Pat will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pat is survived by her two daughters, Jessica Hacker and Kathleen (Micah) Hacker; her sister, Pamela (Steve) Yaney; sister- and brother-in-law, Gail Hacker and Rich Lari; grandchild Miles Krida, and several treasured nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Jewell Highman; husband, Miles, and brother, Alan Highman.
Memorial contributions in Pat’s name are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
