Karl &Patti were friends from the beach days at Gulf Beach Campground on beautiful Siesta Key Florida .. we had such great times together .. Karl and Patti gifted me a conch shell and cut it so I could learn to blow it at sunsets at the beach .. it is such a treasure to me .. I want the family to know I will be blowing the conch shell for Patti and Karl at sunset.. this week ..
her smile would light up the entire campground .. she was such a friend to Rick and I and we always hugged .. such a warm and giving person that I will always remember .. my Rick went to Heaven in 2017 on October 3rd so I know they will be listening for the beautiful sound of the conch echoing through the Heavens ..

It’s hard to decide which of so many memories to place here...the times we spent when we found ourselves alone are the ones that tug the hardest. I remember her little apartment on Grosse Ile when she was working downtown at Comerica Bank...the weekends we spent together while she was living on her brothers boat at Gibraltar boat yard, she and Karen and Beans little house in Dearborn where we would get all our grandkids together. That’s not to mention the years we have spent sailing together. We always planned to be together with her again at her last abode on that beautiful lake in the Irish Hills. My broken hearted condolences to all of the family and friends she has touched with her special spirit...my heart is broken...

Met Patti and Karl at Grand Lake in Florida. Enjoyed her smile and positive attitude. She shared a peach pie with us and the recipe.... a favorite of ours today. Thinking of Karl and the family - you have lost a special person.

Patti will leave a hole for so many friends and family. She was an original. She will remain in our hearts and never forgotten. If I close my eyes, I can see her on the helm of the Thalassa on one of our many sailing trips. See her and Alice cooking for the Mexican Fiesta at FYC while Keith and I drank the homemade salsa. Sitting in the “Patti” seat that was named for her. Sailing aboard the Nahta with Kernahan and in later years at Madison’s and Zachary’s graduation parties and getting to know Carl, and so many more memories.
She will be missed, but kept alive in our hearts.
