Patricia Alice Swain's Obituary
Swain, Patricia
Michigan Center, Michigan
Patricia Alice, formally Sackreiter, Swain of Michigan Center, affectionately known as Pat, Patty or her favorite known as “GG” to all of her grands, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, at the age of 92 while residing at Intersect Healthcare of Jackson.
Patricia was born on February 5,1933, in Jackson, MI and later resided in Michigan Center. She was the beloved daughter of William and Elizabeth (Weisgerber) Blakely, both preceding her in death. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Eugene A. Sackreiter of 47 years and her husband of 1 year, Donald Swain, her brothers, Bill and Jack Blakely, and her best furry friend, Figaro, leaving fond memories behind.
Patricia was a devoted Catholic whose unwavering faith guided her throughout her life. She was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima church in Michigan Center where she found solace and strength in her spiritual beliefs. Her dedication to her faith was evident in her daily life as she would recite the rosary daily. She served her church as a volunteer for many years in several ministries, including a sacristan and counting the Sunday offerings. Pat was a deeply caring person, always placing others’ needs above her own. Her compassionate nature led her to many volunteer positions, after her working years as an accountant at Jackson National Life, that she completed with great pride. She spent several years delivering and then becoming a facilitator for Jackson County Meal Service, coordinating her clients and drivers. She cared for her neighbors and friends at the Maple Ridge Senior Apartments, where she resided before moving to Intersect Healthcare, by cooking meals for them twice a week. This provided the opportunity for them to gather as a community in the dining hall and visit together. Patricia will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved her family so much that she was often heard saying, “I love you all SOOO MUCH”.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Robert (Janet) Sackreiter of Texas, David (Cindy) Sackreiter of Ohio, Brian (Beth) Sackreiter of Dexter, Tony (Shari) Sackreiter of Arizona, Harry (Therese) Sackreiter of Oklahoma, Kathy (Kurt) Thomas of Leslie, Mary (Kurt ) Mitchell or Michigan Center and Becky Iocca of Jackson, her 20 grandchildren, Michelle Nicholson, Rob Sackreiter, Hayley Templet, John Stailey, Becky Jo Snyder, Bill Sackreiter, Kristen Pryor, Joelle Zebarah, Rory Sackreiter, Ben Sackreiter, Scott Sackreiter, Joshua Sackreiter, Nathan Sackreiter, Brian Sackreiter, Keri Foster, Kurt Thomas Jr., Brianna Mitchell, Sarah Iocca, Sophia Iocca and Olivia Iocca, her 21 great-grandchildren, her 4 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Patricia’s family will gather for visitation on Wednesday, May 14th 2025 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Eineder Funeral Homes - Michigan Center Chapel. Rosary at 7:00pm.
