I’ll never forget the day I met Pat. I was working at the Ford Saline Plant in the Magnetic Gage area when he walked up to me and asked if I was “the Dragon Lady” stating he was my newest employee. I replied, “yes, and your Supervisor.” I proceeded to lay out what I expected of him and what he could expect of me. And then he tells me how “cute” my earrings were and how he “liked” the way I wore my hair. He was so very young, maybe 20 years old, if even that. So appreciating moxie, I said to him “Patrick, you can cut the suck up s—t, I’m old enough to be your teenage mother and I don’t date puppy chow.” We laughed then and every day we worked together. I will so miss his infectious playful nature and joyous laugh.
He went on to become one of my best employees. Hardworking, talented (he could fix anything broken or not running correctly), dedicated, and loyal. Ford Motor Company hit the jackpot the day they hired him.
He stopped by our house a few weeks ago, excited to be retiring. We made plans to go fishing in April. God speed Puppy Chow. Your friendship and service to Ford Motor Company will never be forgotten.
Patrick was a great guy who also had an awesome sense of humor. We have very fond memories of times with him. He even dodged rain to ride his Harley to Howell for our wedding!
