Paul William Manthei Jr's Obituary
Paul William Manthei Jr., 87, of Clarklake, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. A private graveside service will be held.
He was born on January 5, 1938, in Parma Township, Michigan, to Paul Sr. and Thelma (Hubbel) Manthei. Paul married the love of his life, Judith Ann Phillips, on June 7, 1958 in Jackson, Michigan He graduated from Hanover-Horton High School, class of 1956 and attended Devry Institute. Paul worked in Radio Technology; first with WILX-TV in Jackson and finishing with a long career of 30 years with the Michigan State Police. For years, he was active as a Civil War Re-Enactor, a member of the Flathead Ford Car Club and enjoyed his classic car collection. Paul was a gentle, kind soul with a great sense of humor and was slow to anger. He will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Judith; his children, Christopher (Dawn) Manthei and Cheryl “Sheri” Manthei; his 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
