Peet Mitchell's Obituary
Peet Mitchell, 87, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Henry Ford Hospice Home. Peet’s family and friends will gather at 10:00 -11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Cornerstone Community Church in Brooklyn, MI. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m., at Cornerstone Community Church in Brooklyn, MI. Pastor John Masters will serve as officiant.
Peet was born on November 29, 1936, in Virgina to Mike and Mary (Turner) Mitchell. He married the love of his life, Jan Woods, in 1959 in Detroit, MI. Peet spent most of his life making windows, which he enjoyed doing. He attended Cornerstone Church in Brooklyn, MI, where he also took pride in mowing the grass for many years, which was very important to him. Peet also enjoyed taking care of the lawn at his home, where, in his younger years, he also gardened. Peet also enjoyed attending country music shows with his wife. He will be remembered as a caring and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Peet will be missed by his wife, Jan Mitchell; his 2 children, Rick (Cheryl) Mitchell and Terry Mitchell; 6 grandchildren, Matt Oman, Kurt (Kayla) Oman, Nicholas Mitchell, Jordan (Abby) Mitchell, Emily (Mike) Derhamer and Trenton Mitchell; 4 great grandchildren, Dakota Oman, Trinity Oman, Hayden Oman and Lainey Derhamer. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 3 brothers and 1 grandson, Daniel Oman.
