Phoebe A. Nichols' Obituary
Nichols, Phoebe A. Age 88, of Michigan Center, passed away May 13, 2013 at her home under the loving care of her family and Great Lakes Hospice. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Richard W. Nichols; two daughters, Susanna White and Lyndell Nichols; sister-in-law, June Cooper; grandchildren, Richard (Jeanie) White, Eric (Shawn) White, James (Debbie) White, Paul (Missy) White, Becca (Phil Cooper) White, Bradley (Brenda) Moorehead and Missy (Jeff) Rankin; 25 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew White; son-in-law, Roger White; siblings Nellie Charles and Elizabeth Dahlem; parents, William and LeoBelle Wertenbarger. From 1959 to 1979 she and her husband operated Nichols Funeral Home in Michigan Center and remained active in the Nichols-Arthur Funeral Home from 1979 until retirement. She enjoyed motor home travel and visiting casinos. Phoebe has been cremated. A Memorial Service honoring her life will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor David Cornwell officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Contributions in her memory are directed to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
