Phyllis Darlene Phillips' Obituary
Phyllis Darlene Phillips, 86, of Jackson, went home to be with her Lord on December 29, 2023. Phyllis’s Celebration of Life will be later this year on Saturday, April 13, 2024, for visitation from 12:00 p.m.-12:30 p.m. at The Eagles Lodge in Michigan Center, 302 5th St, Michigan Center, MI 49254. The funeral service will immediately follow, at 12:30 p.m., with Pastor Shoemaker serving as celebrant. Luncheon to follow.
Phyllis was born on April 13, 1937, in Cement City, Michigan to William and Florence (Evans) Irelan. Phyllis married the love of her life, the late Robert E. Phillips, on February 3, 1953. She returned to school after marrying and having children to graduate from Napoleon High School in 1982. She also worked at Brooklyn Products. Phyllis was busy in her retirement and greatly enjoyed being a part of the Jackson Active Seniors, meeting monthly at Gene Davis Restaurant. She met with friends every week on Wednesday mornings. She loved her Concord Baptist Church Family and rarely missed a Sunday to worship with them. Phyllis will most be remembered for her devotion to her family. Which she loved to cook for; specially making her Sunday morning pancakes for them. Ultimately her firm foundation in her faith in God provided a beautiful, blessed and peaceful life.
Phyllis will be missed by; her children, Roberta (Mark) Lazarus, Patty (Andrew) Tilford, Penny (David) Cropsey, Linda (Phil) Hawkey, David (Sarah) Phillips; sister, Judy Wortley; Eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, William, and Florence; husband, Robert E.; son, Barry E, Phillips; siblings, Bill Evans; and Deloris Eaton; and grandchild, Rebecca Hawkey.
