Ralph Heavins Anderson's Obituary
Age 84, of Blackman Township, passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Health December 13, 2017. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Verna E. (Wells); two children, Eric (Belinda) Anderson and Lorena (Barton) Deiters; four grandchildren, Kathryn (Brandon) Mullins, Kayla Anderson, Harrison and Sophia Deiters; two great-granddaughters, Hannah and Emily Mullins; sister Esther Hoge and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Martin; his parents, Charles and Lillie (Heavins) Anderson; siblings, Mildred Molby, Charles, Richard, Bernice Woodland and Mary. Raised in Alma, Michigan, Ralph graduated from Michigan State College in 1955. He served the nation in the US Army and retired after 31 years as a Wildlife Biologist with the Michigan State Department of Natural Resources. Ralph enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a gifted artisan and harmonica player. He was a member of Loomis Park Baptist Church (2301 North Elm) where funeral services will be held Monday, December 18, 2017, at noon with Pastor Rich Zawadzki officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 am until service time. Interment will be Tuesday, December 19, at Riverside Cemetery, Alma, Michigan. The Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team will provide Military Honors. Contributions in his memory are directed to Loomis Park Baptist Church Missions.
