I have so many wonderful memories of my Uncle Ray. Always so good to be around him, with his friendly, pleasant and positive demeanor. I am so fortunate that he was a part of my extended family. He and my Aunt Louise were always so considerate and welcoming when we would visit. We always looked forward to their visits in the summer to the Lake Ruth cottage. I will always have Uncle Ray in my heart.
45 years ago, shortly after moving to Brooklyn, I met with Ray to ask what he thought about the idea of my opening up a dental practice in Brooklyn. He was very supportive of it and even told me that he thought his assistant was going to sell her house on Marshall Street. I bought her house and his receptionist's (Becky) husband could remodel the house to become a dental office. Dr. Bjorkland was a great guy and I have always been grateful for his help and advice. I know he will be missed by family and friends.

My parents, Arnold and Mildred Heltunen, shared the same childhood faith as Ray, Louise, and Evy. I have fond memories from my childhood of the Bjorklund family, and it was a delight to see Ray a few years ago in the Howell Church. "Now the cares of day are ended...and the child of God has entered everlasting rest and peace!"

Ray, you are missed. Today was the longest day without you up at the front desk making me laugh, sharing Bible thoughts, you talking about your fulfilling life and most of all your family. Heartfelt condolences to the Bjorklund family. Dr. Bjorklund was my dentist from 16 years of age until he quit practicing. He was a contributing member of the community. I remember serving with him on the search committee for a family physician to locate in Brooklyn. He and Mrs. Bjorklund opened their home to the committee for meetings. I enjoyed seeing him at some of the school sporting events.
