It is my privilege to have known Ray. Met him as he was President of State Employee Retirement Group. He was dedicated and determined to keep retirees in the loop as our world evolved. Knowing him as a friend was such fun. We shared an incredible friendship and I am so honored to have known him. He shared his family with me and was completely devoted to you, Patti, and Sarah. So proud of both of you. I will miss his humor and wisdom.

The Van Lue family sends our deepest sympathy to Ray's family. We remember him from our teenage years on John Hauk in Garden City. He shared his heart and enthusiasm for life freely. He was very protective of his family, whom he loved dearly. He was a cool dude in a Johnny Cash kind of way with all black attire and a motorcycle to match. Jenny and I (Linda) went up North with him one time and he took a picture of we two sisters looking out over the hills and meadows. It is our favorite photo of all time some 40 years later. We wish you the peace of the Lord's care for Ray and his family and friends.

Oh how my family has LOVED Ray!!! My mom, Aunt Marion (Mallette) and Uncle Paul had the best and funniest Ray stories and memories!! And I know she is so excited to have him in Heaven with her now!! He was such a crack-up but also had a serious side and my mom would have in-depth talks with him about the so many things including their shared illness and also how God was working in their lives and graciously sustaining them. We will miss Ray so much and can’t wait to see him again in Heaven!! Patti, Sarah and David, we love you so much and are continually lifting you up in prayer as you miss him here in your lives. And to all my cousins, this has been such a hard year of loss for all of you. Uncle Paul and I love you and you are all in our prayers as you miss your brother.🙏🏼❤️

We will miss Ray's unique sense of humor and kind heart. We loved being in laws with him for almost forty years! You could always count on Ray for a good laugh and a meaningful prayer. He was a fun and generous Uncle to our kids, and a hilarious brother in law. We are lucky and blessed to have him in our family.

Ray was my best friend these past 15-20 years. He loved the Lord and had a heart of gold. He was one of the most generous, loving guys I've ever known. He deeply loved his wife, Patty. He was my student in college, my hunting buddy and my best friend. I weep and deeply miss him but I know he's rejoicing now. See you in heaven Ray.
